My Plan: Results and Reflection
Personality Test
According to the personality test on MyPlan, my personality type is ISFP; introvert, sensor, feeler, perceiver. Being an introvert means that I tend to keep my empotions to myself, prefer privacy, and often feel drained after social events. While I do tend to keep my feelings bottled up, I prefer spending time with others rather than alone, and I do not feel drained after socializing for awhile. Sensor means that I prefer specific answers and practical matters, as well as experiencing things with my senses. Feeler means that I put emotion before logic, and perceiver means i prefer flexibility rather than strict schedules, both of which I agree with.
Interest Skills
My primary intersest area is investigative, meaning that I take interest in complex matters, such as math and science. While those may not be my strongest subjects, they are of most interest to me. I enjoy playing poker, reading, and doing outdoor activities, which are all usual hobbies of investigative people. My secondary interest area is realistic, which indicates being down to earth and adventerous. I agree with this interest more because I love hands-on assignments as well as watching and playing sports, which often characterize realistic people.
Work Values
My top four work value clusters are achievement, independence, support, and working conditions. I definitely agree with achievement, because it is important for me to be able to see the results of my work immediately. That is one of the main reasons I enjoy wildlife and nature; clearing the woods of invasive weeds or helping an injured animal results in an immediate change that you can see. I agree with independence as one of my work values also, because I tend to perform better when I am in a laid-back environment where I have my own time to accomplish tasks.
Career Test
My top four career categories are engineering and architecture, management, computer and mathematical and healthcare practitioner and technical. I am not good at math and do not enjoy it, so engineering and mathematical are not good matches for me. However, I briefly considered majoring in architecture because I enjoy designing and building.
